King’s Lynn radio station pleased

Have your say

People tune in to the Lynn-based KL.FM radio station for longer than almost any other station in the country, according to new industry figures.

KL.FM, which broadcasts to West Norfolk and northern Cambridgeshire from its headquarters in Blackfriars Street, attracts almost 49,000 listeners, who listen for an average of almost 13 hours every week.

The survey, carried out by Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR), which measures radio audience figures, reveals only two other stations have people listening for longer.

KL.FM managing director Darren Taylor said: “I am delighted with these latest audience figures.

“The whole team here work incredibly hard to deliver a great radio station for West Norfolk with a brilliant combination of music, local news and information all produced locally here in the centre of King’s Lynn.

“We are definitely getting it right with our listeners tuning in for so long each week.”

The figures are just the latest accolade for the station, which was named UK Radio Station of the Year for broadcasters with under 300,000 listeners at the Sony Radio Academy awards in 2012 and 2013.
