Eastgate Academy in Lynn is celebrating powerful improvement, in both attainment and progress, following its SATs results. The SATs (Standard Attainment Test) are designed to measure pupils’ progress in the core national curriculum subjects compared to other children of the same age.
The proportion of pupils attaining at the nationally expected standard in reading, writing and maths more than doubled from 44 per cent in 2013 to 89 per cent in 2014, well above the national average. “This is a fantastic achievement for our pupils and reflects the enthusiasm and hard work of all our staff,” said Linda Hothersall, principal. “My thanks goes to the academy staff and all the families for their support over the last year which has helped us come this far”.
