A bid for a new alcohol licence at a shop in Lynn’s town centre has been rejected by a council committee.
The application for the Baltic Stores premises was turned down at a West Norfolk Council licensing hearing held at the authority’s headquarters in Lynn on Thursday.
Litexport Ltd had been seeking a licence to sell alcohol from 8am to 10pm each day from the premises in Old Sunway. An individual licence was also sought.
But both police and trading standards officials had opposed the application, arguing that granting it would undermine attempts to combat crime and disorder.
