The King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars moved up to second place in the Elite League table with a 50-40 victory over Wolverhampton at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday night.

Rob Lyon’s troops struggled in the opening two races and slipped behind following a 5-1 in the reserves race. However the Stars pairing of Kenneth Bjerre and Rory Schlein levelled the scores with a big 5-1 in heat 3.

Lynn continued to win races, but couldn’t find a heat advantage until the seventh race when Bjerre notched up his second win of the night with Niels-Kristian Iversen claiming third to give the Stars a narrow lead.

That advantage appeared to give the Stars an edge as they went on to quickly open up a 10 point lead with wins coming from Lewis Kerr (pictured), Robert Lambert and again from Bjerre.

After the interval, Iversen and Lambert cancelled out a Wolverhampton tactical ride as they took maximum points over Peter Karlsson and guest Kyle Howarth in heat 11.

With a 14 point lead, the Stars closed out the meeting with three shared heats, but their lead was cut to 10 points in the final race as Ricky Wells and Freddie Lindgren got the better of Schlein and Bjerre.

The Stars have now won three meetings in a row and remain unbeaten at home following the victory.

They travel to Wolves on Monday, May 18, aiming to extend that record to four meetings.
