West Norfolk shoppers were given a shock to find a famous face behind a Lynn fruit and vegetable stall earlier this week.
Aladdin star Todd Carty went back to his EastEnders roots by helping out on a fruit and veg stall in Tuesday Market Place.
Mr Carty became a household name starring in the BBC soap as Albert Square’s stallholder Mark Fowler.
He went along to market stall run by Anthony and Pauline Seekings to support West Norfolk Council’s Test the Market initiative.
The scheme is aimed at reviving the markets by inviting entreprenuers to try out their business ideas for free in Lynn and Hunstanton between Tuesday and Sunday next week.
Mr Carty said: “Even though it was only a drama, the fruit and veg were real. I did have a bit of a flashback but I would need five staff with a stall that size. I had it easy.
“I was invited to meet Anthony and he seems a nice bloke and I wish him well and all the new stallholders trying to get off the ground.”
Rehearsals have now started for Mr Carty and the cast ahead of the pantomime. Aladdin will run at Lynn Corn Exchange between December 7 and 31.
