A woman from Gaywood has appeared in court accused of perverting the course of justice and fraud in connection with an alleged false crime report.

Wendy Willson, 60, of Spenser Road, will now appear before Norwich Crown Court next month, following an initial hearing held at the West Norfolk magistrates court in Lynn yesterday morning

Willson is accused of committing acts with intent to pervert the course of justice, between December 22, 2013 and April 17 last year, and fraud by false representation on January 3 last year. She made no indication of her plea.

The case is said to be related to allegations of rape, burglary and assault which are alleged to have been made to both police and an insurance company in order to make a gain of more than £6,000.

Magistrates adjourned the case for a hearing at Norwich Crown Court on February 12. Willson was released on unconditional bail until her next court appearance.
