Kite surfer rescued off Hunstanton

A KITE surfer who lost control off Hunstanton had to be rescued by lifeboat crews.

The DJS Haverhill went out yesterday (Tuesday) at 3.25pm to help a man in his 40s who was struggling with his kite because he had become entangled in the equipment.

Visitors to the resort, who were in the cliff top car park, alerted the Coastguard after spotting the man from the Norwich area struggling on his own about a quarter of a mile out to sea.

On arrival the volunteer crew managed to get him and his gear aboard the lifeboat.

Cold and exhausted, he was taken back to the boathouse but was otherwise unharmed.
