Have your say

Things are a bit mish-mashed at KL.FM at the moment.

With Easter holidays looming we’ve all booked our few days off over the next three weeks, which means some show-swapping. I was the first to slip away with a week off in France, Boulogne to be precise.

We had a lovely time, nice peaceful walks, visiting a big aquarium, eating snails (which wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be) and even driving on the wrong side of the road; to which I only got honked at once!

I returned to the office with a spring in my step, ready to take on my new role as daytime presenter, only to find that Si is on holiday and I’m in covering for Posh Charles on Hometime.

That’s fine I think, only one more week before I can sink my teeth in to a new show ... except Charles has booked his holiday for next week. Oh well, I’ll wait ’til the end of the month then!

I’m also prepping myself for the second wave of SsangYong sing-along. If you haven’t seen it on our site yet, Charles gives a family a lift on the school run every morning and we film them singing to their favourite song.

The family that gets the most public votes wins a car for the weekend and £250.

As the filmmaker at the station I’m in charge of the cameras, rigging them up and then editing the final videos that you can see online.

The videos are some of the most intricate I’ve ever produced, when you’re working with two camera feeds, three audio feeds and background sounds and music on top of it all, it’s easy to get in a muddle.

I’m sure if you asked anyone in the office they’d say it’s useless trying to talk to me about it while I’m working, I’ll either get way too excited and tell you all these things that mean nothing to someone not working on the film, or I’ll just be in my own world and completely blank you.

I think it’s important to have something like that, that you love so much you can completely throw yourself into it; for me it’s doing a show and making a film... sometimes all at once.
