As I type this I’m sitting in a beautiful ray of sunshine that’s beaming across my desk here at KL.FM – and it’s all feeling just a little bit like winter is coming to an end.
Everyone in the office and at home also seems to have a little more energy which can only be a good thing. Although I think this might have gone a little far after I (accidently) very nearly seriously injured Adam Newstead this week.
Madonna’s backwards flight will be the thing that this year’s Brits is remembered for. There have already been lots of cries that she faked it, and also that the fall showed her advancing (56) years.
My view is one of total respect that she got up and continued a fantastic song and dance routine after what must have really hurt.
How many well paid young men in their physical prime do we see on football pitches each weekend taking a stumble and then getting up to carry on in the same spirit? Not a lot. Although my understanding of football rules is that some rolling around and crying on the floor is compulsory.
Anyhow, Adam and I thought it would be quite amusing to film our own version.
Adam would bring all of his extensive panto skills to the table and we’d pull off a horribly faked and hopefully hilarious little Vine video. Charles got behind the camera and we were go.
Two things happened – One was that I might have pulled a tiny, tiny, bit hard on his cape. Also, the ladder flew out from under him and he went down to the floor with a crunch. This all happened at 2 minutes to 8 in the morning, so getting my head back to talking seriously about the Lynnsport development, and the day’s national news was a challenge to say the least.
I’ve often run through the scenario in my head of what I would do if there was a choice between hitting the news on time, or calling an ambulance for a colleague. I have to say… I’m not entirely sure.
If you’ve not seen the video then you should go and have a look. It’s on our Facebook page. It did not go according to plan, so please – do not try this at home!
When I’m not committing GBH on radio presenters, I’m on a bit of a fitness kick at the moment. Well, I say this, but so far I’ve done one session and been in a lot of pain.
Everyone keeps telling me this is a good thing, I’m not so sure. I really have to start taking this seriously though. The hours I work and the commuting I do mean I spend a lot of time sat down and a lot of time crashed out on the sofa.
I’m pretty sure this can’t be good for me.
I have been doing a LOT of running about on my Xbox though, and climbing mountains, and shooting arrows into mages, and stealing their treasure. That counts, doesn’t it?
