Have your say

Unbelievably it’s ten years ago that I began as host of KL.FM breakfast and tomorrow I will have come full circle and find myself in the chair once again.

In my entire radio career and the 16 years I’ve spent at KL.FM my time on breakfast was without a doubt the best time of my life.

Whilst waking up West Norfolk we helped countless charities, got involved with so many community events, I joined the circus, got arrested, flew a helicopter, and generally had a lot of fun.

I can’t wait for my 4.30 alarm, honestly, it’s going to be absolutely amazing.

It’s come about at just the right time now that the mornings are lighter, in fact it’s perfect.

Although it’s a massive change for my personal circumstances with my family’s routines being altered, ultimately it will make such a difference in a real positive way for me, my wife and our children.

I’m so looking forward to leaving work and arriving home the same time as Jake and Holly rather than as it is now when they are getting ready for bed and don’t really have much to say, not least because they are proper teenagers now, but because they have had a long day.

I’m looking forward to helping more with their homework, being able to kick a ball about the garden, get thrashed at FIFA or having the opportunity to wind my daughter up about something.

It’s also gonna be great to be home when my wife gets in, to help her cook dinner, to eat together as a family and to be able to go places in the evening as I’m home just a little too late at the mo, I just honestly can’t wait.

There are downsides however, like the alarm at silly o’clock or falling asleep at 9pm on the sofa, be it at home or more embarrassingly as what has happened before round a friend’s house when we visited for dinner.

Apart from that it’s all good. I hope that you will welcome me back on to the show I love as I’m sure we will have a lot of fun.

All the usual bits remain, the £1,000 Minute, the Secret Sound returns too along with lots of showbiz, topical chat, laughs and of course that all important school run travel.

So please wake up with me and my new radio wife Emily. We have a good laugh in the office and I’m sure you’ll love being part of it on air too.

Join us weekdays from 6am and, by the way, Emily will also continue with her amazing weather and fashion advice too, where would we be without that?
