Knife-wielding man ‘attacked police officer’ in King’s Lynn affray

A police officer was confronted by a man armed with a knife during an incident in Lynn in the early hours of yesterday morning, detectives have revealed.

Witnesses have been urged to come forward following a disturbance in Littleport Street at around 3am on Sunday.

Police say that, on arrival at the address, a male officer was confronted by a man carrying a knife who then tried to attack him.

The pair fell to the ground before the man ran away towards the Morrisons supermarket. The knife was recovered.

Police say they want to hear from anyone who saw what happened or a man acting suspiciously in the area between 3 and 3.30am.

The man is described as white, in his early to mid 20’s, around six feet tall, of average build, with short light brown hair.

He is believed to have been wearing a red body warmer over a grey top.
