Charities and community groups have just a few days left to apply for a share of a £100,000 fund set up by Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner, Stephen Bett.

The money has been drawn from Mr Bett’s commissioning budget and aims to support projects relating to sex offences, rehabilitating offenders, mental health support and issues relating to drug and alcohol misuse.

Mr Bett said: “I have seen some incredible work done by dedicated people. I have met people who have a drive and determination to turn the lives of others around and those who give their time to help and make a genuine difference.

“I said from the outset I wanted to do something to support the wide range of charitable, voluntary and community organisations across Norfolk working in these key areas day in, day out.”

A maximum of £10,000 is available to any project and the first grants are set to be allocated next month. The deadline for applcations is Friday, February 28.

Mr Bett said: “There is still time for people to bid for this money and I would urge them to do so.”

Applications can be made online at For more information, phone grants officer Clive Rayner on 01603 623958.
