LATEST NEWS: Boy, 14, robbed in Downham Market street

A 14-year-old boy was robbed in Downham yesterday afternoon, Thursday, May 22, police say.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, which happened in Bexwell Road at around 5.15pm.

Police say the boy was walking along Bexwell Road, towards the traffic lights, when he became aware of a group of youths as he passed the junction with Rabbit Lane.

The group then blocked his way, threatened him and demanded money, before attempting to take his bag and eventually making off with some school stationery.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw a group of youths acting suspiciously in the area is urged to come forward.
