Lynn’s pedestrian ferry service has been suspended until the weekend, operators have announced this morning, Wednesday, December 10.
The decision came after the vessel became stuck on a sand bank in the River Great Ouse yesterday evening.
Ferry operator Gail Kingston said: “Due to a combination of high winds and very low tides we have taken the decision to suspend the service until Saturday. Our new boat with the tracks fitted should be delivered early next week.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but have decided this is the safest option all ways round as we don’t want to take people over and can’t get them back at low water tonight.
“This is first time in 15 years we have found ourselves in this position.”
