Actress opens art exhibition

AN award-winning artist's latest exhibition at Lynn Arts Centre has been officially opened by Dersingham TV star Claire Goose.

The former Casualty actress was joined by North West Norfolk MP Henry Bellingham for the revealing of Gerald Marsland's latest works, called Water Ways.

The exhibition explores the effects of light, shadow and reflection on waters from turbulent seas to calm lakes, fast-flowing rivers and canals.

There are 41 oil paintings in a range of sizes.

Mr Marsland, of London Road, Lynn, won the Eastern Open best painting award in 2004 and was joint winner of the awards' most popular picture in 2005, but believes this exhibition is his best to date.

The exhibition is open at the King Street venue from 10am to 5pm, including Sundays, until Sunday, September 9.
