Memories of Christmas past will be triggered by this photograph.

Sheila Overson has shared a picture of a group of staff taking a break from their duties at the former St James’ Hospital in Extons Road, Lynn

Mrs Overson, of Hillington Square, believes the picture was taken during a 1959 Christmas party.

She worked at the hospital for some time as an orderly.

Mrs Overson, 73, said: “I enjoyed my time at the hospital. I liked the job and the people. It was nice to chat to the patients.”

St James’ Hospital, which was the town’s former workhouse, closed in 1985.

Mrs Overson has been able to name three of the five women enjoying a drink at the party.

Pictured from left are, Beryl Richardson, ?, ?, Sheila Watson and Jean Pathament.

If you can put names to the two other women in the photograph then please contact reporter Victoria Fear on 01553 817321 or email victoria.fear@jpress.co.uk
