All Saints' day launch for 'Godcasts'
CONGREGATION members at Lynn's All Saints' Church need never miss a Sunday sermon again, thanks to new technology which will help create "Godcasts".
All Saints' Day, November 1, will see the launch of the new website which will "help spread the word of God".
Father Paul Kinsey said: "I want to broadcast Sunday services conducted in the church via the website with a webcam."
Fr Paul, who is the rector at All Saints' Church, Hillington Square, Lynn, has been working on the project with Swaffham-based web page designer Daniel Gibbins.
Mr Gibbins has already completed several web pages for churches, including The Church in the Woottons as part of the Church Website Design Project. He is currently constructing the webpage for All Saints'.
Fr Paul said: "I want to use the website as part of an evangelistic tool, to try to keep people in touch with the church if they can't come to services and to gain new members for the congregation via the web – people who wouldn't normally come to church.
"I want to convey information about the church which is of huge importance historically and architecturally to the town."
When it reaches completion the site will include information about worship at All Saints', its history and heritage, news and events and a "rector writes" section, containing blogs.
The site, which is not yet finished, can be viewed at www.allsaintskingslynn.org.uk from its launch day.
The site for the Church in the Woottons can be seen at www.churchinthewoottons.net
