Assaults on Lynn women

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two separate assaults on females in Lynn over the weekend.

The first attack happened when a 14-year-old girl was approached by a male described as “oriental” who asked her for money before trying to pull her to the ground.

She was walking with a friend by Surf 55, on Wootton Road, Gaywood, when the assault happened between 7.20pm and 7.35pm on Saturday.

Both girls managed to run off down Beulah Street and through Lynnsport, where they walked closely behind a man out walking his dog.

The offender was wearing a beige jacket, white T-shirt with horizontal black stripes and blue jeans. He had collar-length untidy brown/grey hair and may have been intoxicated.

PC Dan Curtis is keen to speak to any witnesses, particularly the dog walker.

A woman was assaulted by an Asian male as she and a friend attempted to cut through to Norfolk Street from the Austin Street car park at 2.30am on Sunday.

The man took hold of the woman and tried to put his hand up her skirt before she was able to escape, alerting a group of males who gave chase. The offender ran off towards Austin Fields.

He is described as being between 25 and 35 years old, 6ft tall with a slim build and short, dark brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket and jeans.

PC Terry Smith is appealing for anyone with information on the attack to come forward and would like to speak to the group of males who gave chase, as they may be important witnesses.

Both officers can be contacted at Lynn Police Station on 0845 456 4567.
