Back the West Lynn brownies!

A WEST Lynn mum who took over the running of her village brownies group is appealing for new members.

Kelly Dasivla stepped in to lead the 1st West Lynn Brownies at the beginning of the month and is keen to make the club bigger and better than ever before.

The group, which meets weekly in Clenchwarton, currently has only nine members and Mrs Dasivla, whose daughter Shannon (8) is a member, would like to hear from any girls aged seven to ten to join in the fun.

Mrs Dasivla, of Sculthorpe Avenue: "The leader running the group before had to give it up due to family commitments and there are no other clubs where girls of this age can get together.

"If we lost the club it would be harder for us to get it going again, so we want to maintain it and hopefully make it better."

So far the brownies have enjoyed a range of craft activities and games and are looking forward a range of Easter activities, including egg decorating, cake- making and an egg hunt.

Mrs Dasivla, who is running the group with the help of fellow mum Rachel Penny, of Clenchwarton, added: "All the girls seem to be enjoying it and we have had some great feedback from parents. The girls are talking about the club when they get home, so it's really good for us."

The group meets at Clenchwarton Memorial Hall, in Black Horse Road, every Monday between 4pm and 5.30pm.

To find out more or get involved, call Mrs Dasivla on 01553 771052 or Mrs Penny on 01553 766698.
