Band needs a new conductor

MEMBERS of the award-winning Hilgay Silver Band are searchng for a new conductor to lead them through their twice-weekly rehearsals and autumn concerts.

Current musical director, Keith Becket, a talented euphonium player, is leaving to devote more time to playing. Mr Beckett said he had enjoyed his three years as conductor, but felt it was time to stand down, although he has agreed to stay on through its series of summer engagements and will leave at the end of July.
