BRANCASTER: Four rescured by lifeboat after becoming stranded
Four people had to be rescued by Hunstanton lifeboat crews after becoming stranded off the north Norfolk coast last night.
Coastguard officers were alerted at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening after the group were cut off on Scolt Head Island.
The Hunstanton hovercraft was called to rescue the group, who were found sheltering in a warden’s hut.
An ambulance was also called to meet the hovercraft crew at the Brancaster Golf Club clubhouse to treat the party. One of them, a heavily pregnant woman, had been showing signs of cold and distress, a lifeboat spokesman said.
