Breathing new life into cemetery

VISITING Hardwick Cemetery is like turning a page in the history of Lynn.

The Victorian era's industry and growth, characters and notables are laid out to be learned about – especially with a knowledgeable “Friend” of the cemetery as your guide.

Regular tours are held and reporter Claire Beal and photographer ROY WILLIAMSON took the opportunity to learn more about Victorian characters such as Broken Dish Bone, one of Lynn's prominent mariners and an ordinary couple caught up in an extraordinary tragedy.
