Call to support South Lynn youth club

RESIDENTS in South Lynn are being urged to help support a youth club, which has seen a rapid growth in popularity.

The South Lynn Youth Club was established in July (2007) by the South & West Lynn Safer Neighbourhood Team and South Lynn resident Carole Lusher after residents complained there were no decent facilities for youths.

Since its start, membership of seven to 12 year olds has grown from 15 to more than 100 – with an average of 50 to 60 children now turning up to the weekly sessions held in the NORA offices, in Saddlebow Road.

Mrs Lusher said: "The Club has been an amazing success but we need local residents who are willing to lend a hand and who can spare an hour and a half on a Wednesday evening."

Anyone interested in volunteering at the club or able to supply any free equipment such as arts and crafts materials, board games, or old computer equipment should contact PSCO Prentice at King's Lynn Police Station on 0845 456 4567.
