Cash incentive to learn skills in West Norfolk

A new initiative to be launched next month sees opportunities in adult education which offer cash for attendance.

The Your Aim... Your Gain project offers free workshop tasters with a follow-on ten-week course which can pay 5 a week, travel expenses and free creche facilities as well as a 10 end-of-course bonus.

The scheme is aimed at adults with low skills not currently in employment and facing barriers including disability, being over the age of 50 or a lone parent.

Between now and early February people can request taster sessions as the service hopes to have them in suitable locations. The requests can also specify which type of skills are needed – from information technology to starting your own business.

People wanting to take part can live anywhere in West Norfolk and as long as enough people register an interest in any one area, sessions can be held locally to the need.

If you are interested in taking part call 01553 772766 and leave a message with your name, address and telephone number or email chris.pope@norfolk.gov.uk with your details.
