Cleared of Ecstasy charge, but had steroids
A FAIRSTEAD man was cleared of possessing 260 Ecstasy tablets and ketamine at Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday.
But Adrian Rowbotham (28) was fined 150 after he admitted possessing a number of anabolic steroids which he got from someone he met in the gym.
The court heard that police found the Ecstasy tablets and 0.397 grams of ketamine in a Landrover they searched on Hardwick Road, Lynn, in January. The vehicle belonged to Rowbotham but someone else had been driving it at the time.
Rowbotham, of 63 Kings Green, Fairstead, Lynn, denied possessing the Ecstasy with intent to supply and possessing the ketamine. He said he did not know another person was using his vehicle to carry drugs.
After being out for just over two hours, the jury found Rowbotham not guilty of the offences.
Rowbotham, who had previous convictions for possessing ketamine, was fined 150 for possessing the steroids.
He was given seven weeks to pay his fine.
