Dersingham walkies raises funds for animals

DERSINGHAM residents and their four-legged friends have pounded the pavement to raise £150 for homeless animals.

Around 20 walkers and their dogs paid to take part in a community walk organised by the village's Budgens store to raise money for Wood Green Animal Shelters.

Among those participating in the event, held on Friday, February 15, was villager Mrs Suzanne Eastmure, who, along with her dog Winnie, collected 47 in sponsorship money.

The Budgens store, which is owned and operated by James Graven and Sons, organised the walk in support of the Pedigree Adoption Drive, a national campaign supporting thousands of abandoned dogs in the UK.

Customers at the shop, in Lynn Road, have already donated dog food worth more than 180 to Wood Green Animal Shelters and the Dogs Trust at Snetterton.

The food collection bin will remain in store until the end of the year.
