Don't send to landfill, recycle and earn cash

BARGAINS could be snapped up at new weekly auctions being held on Sunday afternoons at Clenchwarton.

Several hundred people turned up at the first sale and the attendance has encouraged the organiser, Roger Berney, to turn it into a regular event.

Mr Berney, who owns Splinters DIY, at South Lynn, hopes it will turn into a full-time business.

“There was a great atmosphere and very little left at the end,” he said.

“We sold everything from oak beams, sheds and workshop tools to household goods. There is a green issue here, as well. If people bring along their unwanted items they can recycle them and make a bit of cash instead of sending them to the landfill sites.”

Mr Berney will accept goods at Shoestring Barn, Clenchwarton, between 10am and 1pm from Monday until Saturday ready for the auctions at 1.30pm on the Sundays.

More information is available at Splinters DIY in Wisbech Road or by calling 07946 7009801.
