Downham man swore at police

A DRUNKEN man subjected police to a barrage of abuse after he was told to leave Lynn town centre, a court heard this week.

Samuel Garcia (20) repeatedly swore at officers after he was told to go home following a night out in the town in January, when he was ejected from Chicago Rock Caf, on Norfolk Street.

After walking to Railway Road officers asked him to get a taxi but he refused to leave and was later seen in Norfolk Street, when he continued to be abusive.

Garcia, of 101 Bexwell Road, Downham, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place when he appeared before Lynn magistrates on Wednesday.

He told the court: "I would like to say I am very sorry for the way I behaved, it was totally uncalled for.

"I was completely out of order and want to apologise."

Garcia was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay 60 in costs.
