Downham Market store staff share £10k for good service

Downham’s Iceland store was back in the Christmas spirit this week, when they received a surprise £10,000 gift from the frozen food store’s boss.

In the lead up to Christmas, Iceland customers were encouraged to rate their customer service and give feedback on their overall shopping experience.

One hundred Iceland stores and more than 3,000 employees were commended for their service, with six stores each claiming the top £10,000 cash prize and a holiday to New York for the store manager.

Chief executive Malcolm Walker paid a surprise trip to the store to surprise the staff and toast their successes.

Iceland Stores controller Richard Broadbent also joined in the celebrations and said, “To receive so many positive comments about the exceptional service our customers have received from individual members in our team is fantastic.”
