Drug runner had 'dangerous cocaine-type' drug
A LITHUANIAN caught in possession of drugs in Gaywood has been jailed for two years and nine months.
One of the drugs, methylamphetamine, is a new drug with an effect similar to cocaine.
Judge Peter Jacobs, sitting at Norwich Crown Court on Monday, said: "It is a very dangerous drug, and the introduction of such a drug into Norfolk is not to be tolerated."
Jougenij Davydov (21), of no fixed address, admitting possessing the drugs with intent to supply on April 10 this year.
Judge Jacobs told the defendant: "If I had the power to deport you, I would, but it seems I don't have it."
Christopher Morgan, prosecuting, said Davydov was driving along St Faith's Drive in Gaywood when he was stopped and drugs found inside the van.
A house in Portland Street, Lynn, was searched by police. Others in the house seemed to be low-level drug couriers like Davydov, said Mr Morgan.
Davydov claimed he was approached by three men who told him he would end up in a lake if he did not drive the van containing the drugs.
