Extension to hours at Necton inn

THE Windmill Inn at Necton has won its bid to extend opening hours and stage live and recorded music.

Breckland Council's licensing sub committee approved the application on Wednesday and the pub will now be able to stay open until 12.30am on Thursdays to Saturdays and until 11.30pm on other nights.

When the application was first submitted a handful of residents living near the pub made objections to the council amid concerns about possible late-night disturbances.

But landlord Mr David Whitehair said the licence application was mainly aimed at the weekend restaurant trade and that any live music would likely to be on a Sunday evening, finishing at 10.30pm.

The application was granted on the understanding CCTV will be installed to cover the main entrance, patio, car park and beer garden. Any use of the patio area will cease at 11pm each day.
