Fakenham: Fiver will buy goats for Africa

MOTHERS Union fundraisers in Fakenham are offering a Goat's Lunch today (Tuesday) as their part of the nationwide 'Make a Mother's Day' campaign.

Last year a similar happening raised 300 by providing a simple meal of soup, bread, cheese and a hot drink for under a fiver. This year's event is at the parish church from 12.30pm, when diners are

invited to pay 4.

Principal organiser Felicity Randall said she hoped to exceed the 2009 total to continue supporting families in East Africa. "Once again we can help make a mother's day by giving young goats so that a family in sub-Saharan Africa can have health-giving milk," she said.

"Our lunch will buy a pen, the first year's purchase of goats and training to rear them for their milk. "Each starter kit costs just 84."

Enquiries to Mrs Randall on 01328 862443.
