Father guilty of breaching behaviour order
A FATHER who turned up at a home with a convoy of 12 cars to threaten its owner has been found guilty of breaching his Anti-Social Behaviour Order.
Eli Frankham, of The Willows, Roman Bank, Walpole St Andrew, drew up at Mark Eastwood's home with the convoy and tried to get him to come out and fight, following problems between their children, Norwich Crown Court heard.
Mr Eastwood's partner Tori Ryder rang the police when she saw the cars approaching their home at Strawberry Farm, Walpole St Andrew, as she was "terrified" and thought the occupants were armed.
Frankham (43) had denied breaching his ASBO by intimidating Mr Eastwood on October 29 and again on November 4, but he was found guilty by a jury.
The court heard the five-year ASBO was imposed by Lynn magistrates in September 2004, after he harassed the headteacher of Walpole St Peter school.
Under its conditions, Mr Frankham was banned from threatening, abusing or intimidating anyone with intent to cause alarm, harassment or distress within Lynn or Wisbech.
Mr Eastwood told the court that in November around 12 vehicles turned up and about 50 men. "They wanted me to go out and fight Mr Frankham. I would not go out as there were too many of them," he said.
Mr Frankham claimed there were only four or five cars, and said he didn't think his ASBO covered Mr Eastwood's property. He thought it only referred to schools throughout England.
Frankham, who has previous offences for assault, threatening behaviour, burglary and more, was released on conditional bail while a pre-sentence report is prepared. The case was adjourned to September 14.
