Ferry pontoon plans put on hold

PLANS for a floating pontoon to cut down on steps for passengers boarding West Lynn ferry have been put on hold to allow decision makers to look at the proposed site.

Concerns have been raised that if the pontoon is installed at the suggested spot it could be seriously damaged or wiped out if a broken down ship were washed along the river.

West Norfolk's development control board agreed a site visit when it met on Monday.
