Fincham bench marks work of village stalwarts

A LASTING legacy to the community efforts of David and Marjorie Cockerton has been unveiled in the village of Fincham.

The couple were involved in numerous groups, bodies and organisations in the village and a new memorial bench has been installed to ensure their hard work is not forgotten.

Mr Cockerton was a member of the parish council and village hall committee and was also a founder of Fincham Histrionics. His wife was part of the same group, was a former teacher at the local school and was church warden for a number of years.

The bench was purchased through donations from villagers and the parish council and was blessed by the Rev David Pomery at a service with family and friends.
