Fined for being drunk and disorderly at 2am

CAUSING a disturbance at a takeaway restaurant and swearing at police after he had been drinking led to a £100 fine for Robert Vincent.

The 20-year-old, of 65 Park Avenue, Lynn, was also ordered by Lynn magistrates to pay 55 costs when he appeared before the court on Monday and admitted being drunk and disorderly.

Mr Kevin Eastwick, prosecuting, said the owner of a Lynn kebab house called police to a disturbance in London Road at 2am on Sunday.

They arrived to find someone from the kebab house holding Vincent, who was "less than pleased" to see the officers and directed "certain choice words" towards them. He was taken away noisily shouting and swearing on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. The offence was committed while he was on bail, added Mr Eastwick.

George Sorrell, for Vincent, said his client was taking medication for various disorders and should not drink at the same time. He also had some learning difficulties.

Mr Sorrell said Vincent had told him that he did not want to go to prison.
