Flitcham: Blessed computers!

THE arrival of new computer technology at a West Norfolk school has received the blessing of Bishop of Lynn, the Rt Rev James Langstaff – quite literally!

The Bishop visited Flitcham Primary School on Friday, May 23, to bless its new 200,000 computer suite which was financed through the Norwich Diocesan Board of Education.

The school has just 92 pupils aged four to 11 on roll but the new suite, which was completed with the help of Lynn builders E. N. Suiters and Sons, was desperately needed, particularly in the light of an Ofsted report which identified poor computer facilities.

Headteacher Mrs Angela Eden said youngsters would be able to learn computer skills and also use the equipment to enhance their work in other subjects."We are thrilled with it," said Mrs Eden.

The suite is replacing a 40-year-old mobile classroom and would also be used for the teaching of other subjects.
