Floral tributes to brave lifeboat crews

BRAVE crew members past and present have been recognised with a special RNLI-inspired flower bed in Hunstanton.

The bed, at the heart of the Esplanade Gardens, has been unveiled by the town’s In Bloom committee in honour of the hard work and determination of the West Norfolk RNLI crew, which works tirelessly to keep the coastline safe.

Committee members, residents, town council officials and representatives from West Norfolk Council gathered for the official opening of the bed on Wednesday afternoon.

CREDIT TO BOROUGH

Mr Geoff Needham, volunteer press officer with the RNLI told the Lynn News: “It all went off very well.

“Three of the crew were there and about 20 people went along.

“I think they have put a lot of effort into the bed and it’s a credit to the gardening team and the community.

“They have done a very good job, those gardens are also a credit to the borough.”
