Free bus travel for serving soldiers
SERVING men and women of the Royal Anglian Regiment, just back from active service in Afghanistan, are being offered free bus travel across the First Eastern Counties network in Norfolk and Suffolk.
First Eastern Counties managing director Peter Iddon said: "In thinking about what they give our country, I wondered if we could give something back.
"It is only a modest gesture but I hope it will be part of a broader public expression of our appreciation for a difficult and dangerous job well done."
Company bus drivers will only need to see the soldiers' British Army identity cards.
The offer starts on Thursday, November 22 and runs until the end of December.
Regimental Secretary of the Royal Anglians Lieutenant colonel Kevin Hodgson said: "On behalf of the soliders in our regiment, I would like to thank Mr Iddon.
"We have been moved and delighted by those organisations, companies and individuals who have approached us to offer their support."
