GAYTON: New county role for Lady Romney revealed
The Countess of Romney, who lives at Gayton Hall, has been appointed as Norfolk’s new Vice Lord-Lieutenant, it was announced this week.
The appointment was approved by The Queen.
It follows the retirement of the previous Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Viscountess Knollys, from the role earlier this month.
Lady Romney is currently a trustee of the Westacre Theatre and chairman of the West Norfolk NSPCC.
She said: “I am greatly honoured to have been appointed to succeed Lady Knollys in this very important role.”
Lord Lieutenant Richard Jewson added: “I am delighted that Her Majesty has approved Lady Romney as the new Vice Lord-Lieutenant and I look forward to working closely with her in the future.”
