GAYWOOD: Idea to make online shopping more easy
A Gaywood man has launched a new business which make life easier for internet shoppers.
Gerry O’Neill founded
Parcel Sitter after spotting a gap in the market and the difficulties faced by working people.
Mr O’Neill will be taking in and signing for parcels at his home in Field Road which shoppers are able to collect after work or at a convenient time.
He decided to launch the business after noticing that people were having to take days off or face the hassle of driving through traffic to pick up parcels from the sorting office.
Mr O’Neill, who works as a graphic designer and programmer from his home, is hoping his idea will catch on and expand into other areas.
He said: “With the benefit of shopping on line this will allow people to have a hassle-free way of getting their parcels.
“Lynn is so busy these days and when you are sitting in traffic how can you make it to the sorting office by 5.30pm? “It will be a benefit to people as they will be able to get better deals on-line.”
After the parcel has been delivered to Mr O’Neill’s home, he will then ring or message the customer to let them know it has arrived.
The customer is then able to collect the parcel up until 9pm that night.
Mr O’Neill is charging £4.50 to collect a parcel but is offering a number of deals for people who receive a lot of parcels.
