Local businesses are being challenged to put forward teams for Lynnsport’s Fit4Work Games for the chance to prove who is the fittest at the March event.

Roger Partridge, Sports Development Manager at the borough council, said: “Fit4Work is an initiative that is run by ActiveNorfolk to encourage employers to get their staff to participate in activities that will improve their physical health and therefore their productivity, motivation and attendance at work.

“These games are designed to add a level of competition into the mix, so the companies can compete against each other to see who’s the best at football, badminton, netball or even the fitness triathlon.”

Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “Research shows that employees who take up a physical activity tend to be happier at work, are able to concentrate more, take fewer days off sick and are generally more motivated.

“By participating in activities such as these Fit4Work Games, colleagues can improve their team working and make new friends whilst benefiting from a greater level of fitness.”

Companies can enter any number of teams for each of the events and the cost of entry is just £10 per team. Teams are men only and women only and all the details are available on the ActiveNorfolk website www.activenorfolk.org/fit4work
