Gipsy site for Sutton Bridge?
SUTTON Bridge will learn if it has been selected for a new gipsy and traveller site at a special meeting on Wednesday.
Residents and the town council last month voted to fight plans for temporary stays off Centenary Way, Wingland, which appeared on the latest shortlist drawn up by South Holland Council.
Now the council is to hold a special cabinet meeting to whittle down the list of eight possible sites and select a final three to progress to the next stage.
The meeting, to be held at the council offices in Spalding, will be webcast over the Internet to give everyone the chance to see and hear what happens.
Previous meetings on the issue have attracted people in their hundreds, but council bosses are warning the venue has room for only 80 people who will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mr Terry Huggins, the council's chief executive, said: "The cabinet will be invited to select three sites to be put forward to the next stage.
"This will be to make a planning application which will require a further consultation process.
The webcast will be available from 2pm on Wednesday at www.sholland.gov.uk and will also be available for viewing after the meeting.
