A great great aunt celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday – with a card of congratulations from The Queen.
Agnes Storer, of Grimston, actuallyreceived the picture and a message from The Queen on Saturday and was said to be over the moon.
Janet Yeoman, Agnes’s niece, said: “I was very proud that she reached this age. Agnes was overwhelmed.”
Agnes celebrated her birthday in style at Ffolkes Arms Hotel,in Hillington.
Janet said: “She wanted a big birthday. Agnes even gave details down to the white table cloth. She knows what she wants.”
Agnes is from a large family and was one of thirteen children.
Although she does not have any children herself, she celebrated with all of her family.
The family even joked that The Queen would deliver the card personally during her winter stay at nearby Sandringham.
Agnes still lives independently in her home where the card from The Queen is displayed.
Janet said: “She is such an independent lady and always has been. She has carers but doesn’t to ask for help; she is a very hard working lady.”
