Handbag snatched in North Lynn

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an 81-year-old woman had her handbag snatched at North Lynn.

The woman was robbed while standing at the bus stop between Reid Way and Front Way between 11.40am and 12.05pm on Tuesday.

The thief ran up to her from behind the stop before pulling her black handbag from her shoulder and running off.

Inside was her brown purse containing loose change and bank cards, a mobile 'phone and door keys.

The thief was about 20 years old, 5 ft 7in tall and thickset. He had a hoody over his head and wore a thigh-length dark-coloured jacket.
