Heart goes out to help Lynn appeal
QUILTERS have got things all wrapped up for the Lynn NewsHunstanton Lifeboat Appeal after a masterpiece they created raised a fantastic £471 for the cause.
The Kushnz N Kwiltz ladies produced individual panels for the colourful piece, which was raffled in aid of the appeal at the group’s latest patchwork exhibition of quilts, clothes, bags and more at Hunstanton Town Hall in September.
The contributors are among those who attend patchwork classes run by Angela Pickering at Kushnz and Kwiltz at the rear of Greevegate in Hunstanton.
Mrs Jill Mason, one of the ladies who helped produce the quilt, said they decided to support the appeal as it’s a very worthy local cause. “You never know when you might need the lifeboat,” she said.
Meanwhile, Kushnz N Kwiltz needlesmith Shirley Sage has created her own heart-inspired masterpiece to be raffled off in aid of the Lynn Heart Support Group.
She has been a member of the group with her husband Ted for many years and wanted to raise money for the group as a thanks for all the care Ted has received for his heart problems.
The quilt, which features embroided hearts around the edge and heart buttons in the centre, is the third Mrs Sage has made and took more than six months to complete.
Raffle tickets are being sold at Kushnz N Kwiltz for 1 each, with the winner being drawn at Lynn Heart Support Group’s annual dinner on Wednesday, December 5. For more information contact the shop on 01485 534349.
