History of Lynn sea cadets sought

AN APPEAL has been made for information and photos about the history of Lynn Sea Cadets' TS Vancouver in advance of its 70th anniversary, next year.

The group is planning an exhibition and reunion to mark the anniversary at its headquarters in St Margarets Lane, Lynn, on Saturday, July 26.

First Lieutenant Tony Norris wants to hear from anyone who knows about the history of the group, especially in its first decade before it moved to the current headquarters.

Mr Norris is also keen to encourage anyone who was involved with the former Girls' Nautical Training Corps to get involved.

TS Vancouver provides an opportunity for youngsters aged ten to 18 to take part in activities including parade training, rifle drill, seamanship and boat work, such as sailing, canoeing and rowing and is always looking for new recruits.

Anyone who can help with the exhibition or would like more information about TS Vancouver should contact Mr Norris at home on 01553 671464 or at the TS Vancouver headquarters after 7.15pm on Thursdays on 01553 771441.
