Hospice welcomes RAF Marham's gift
PERSONNEL from RAF Marham Forward Logistics squadron have raised more than £370 for the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House this year with a range of activities.
Raffles, cake sales and a sponsored bike ride have helped to send the squadron's fundraising total skyward. Senior Aircraftswoman Sian Hucker and Senior Aircraftswoman Emma Bunting visited the Snettisham-based hospice to present the squadron's gift of 378.09 to hospice fundraising manager Rob Cartwright.
Mr Cartwright said: "It's a great amount to have raised over the year. Support like this is really important to our hospice as it is only with help from the community such as this that our care for patients and families can continue."
The hospice has been providing palliative care to people with cancer, neurological and other life-limiting conditions since 1984.
The 378 donation wraps up a year of phenomenal support from the base.
Mr Cartwright added: "From personnel helping us map out a route for our 'Sandringham Stroll' back in April to TAS squadron redecorating office and meeting spaces at the hospice, and even a beauty evening held in June on the base, there has been a great deal of support from RAF Marham and we really appreciate all their efforts."
