Hunny children give kids' centre verdict
YOUNGSTERS have given their verdict on the new Hunstanton Children's Centre.
The centre in Avenue Road is now nearing completion and four-year-olds from Footprints Day Care and Preschool were among the first to take a look.
Ben Elwin and Georges Webb said: "It's cool."
The facility is being built next to the town's community centre by Kier Eastern, in partnership with Hunstanton Infant School, Sure Start and Norfolk Children's Services.
The children's centre has been operating at the infant school during the construction period. Staff and youngsters expect to be able to move into their new home at the end of February.
Headteacher Mrs Michaela Webb said: "The new centre will extend the provision in Hunstanton to provide full day care for youngsters from six months to five years."
Serving families from Brancaster to Bircham and Docking and Dersingham, the centre will also be a hub for child health, family support and employment services.
Kier's site manager for the project, Mr Mark Mears, said: "I have worked on 29 centres in all but this has the best view by far."
