Hunny's Gladys makes it a century

A TELEGRAM from The Queen and a visit from the town mayor helped Hunstanton resident Gladys Hudson celebrate her 100th birthday.

Mrs Hudson, who has lived in the same house in Hunstanton since 1952, celebrated her big day with a party for family and friends.

Her daughter, Mrs Barbara Marsh, said her mum, who was originally from Wereham, had worked in the Navy Army and Air Force Institutes (NAAFI) during the Second World War.

She then worked at what is now Hunstanton's Smithdon High School.
